It's 2009 already, time flies!!! It's hard to say that it will be better than 2008 when so much is going on in the world. But, it is what it is and it is what you make it in spite of what is happening around you.
My New Years eve was nice, rather quiet, Chloe wanted me to make a cake so I made a red velvet cake with purple cream cheese icing. You can't say "Happy birthday to the world without a cake, according to miss Chloe. The best way to explain New Years to her was that it was the worlds birthday. Technically the earth is much older but Chloe is 3 so it's a simple enough explanation for her.
Nancy and Becca went out to Nancy's future mother in laws and Erin went to Alex's. Shannon had plenty of people who wanted her to come over and party with them but no one had rides and even though she tried to call a cab the phone lines were busy. She was a bit frustrated, but when you are trying to go somewhere and everything seems to stop you then there is a reason. So she spent time here and texting a possible new friend she met at work. He seems to like her allot. The girls were still awake at midnight so we did the whole count down thing by watching it on TV as they dropped the ball in Times Square New York. The Clinton's got to drop the ball, although Bush probably should have done in since he's the one who dropped the ball to begin with. Then everyone could have thrown their shoes at him and it would have been great. I know, I know...but I am really disgusted with how this country has acted for so very long, no one has a right to control and dominate so many. Ok I will stop there. But we all said Happy New Year and then I went and tucked Chloe into bed and she said "mo mo I'm cold and tired, make me warm and cozy." So I tucked her in and said "warm and cozy, cozy and warm. She likes when I say that.
I spoke to my sons today too. They are both so funny, they always keep me laughing. I am worried about T.J. though he is my oldest. About 12 years ago when we lived in Georgia the land below us flooded and T.J. went down the street to help get people out of their homes. Several days later he called me while I was at work and told me he felt weird and had a high fever by the time I got home he had seizured from the fever and was unconscious. I called the ambulance and he was in a coma for 2 weeks, we almost lost him. He ended up with Encephalitis and Rocky mountain spotted fever. The docs thought he would be severely brain damaged and said it was a miracle when he almost fully recovered. he was pretty much back to normal within 2 months except for seizure symptoms, he has been on medication for seizures since then and has only had 1 bad one since then and that was about 2 years ago. Now though he is having what the docs think are small seizures and so they are going to do an 8 hour EEG on him in a few weeks, and they are adjusting his meds. He is a truck driver and drives double rigs locally in Iowa and Chicago. So I am really worried about him, and he is going to find something else to do for work, but it's going to be hard because he has a wife and 2 kids he is supporting. It will all work out but I still hate that he is having more problems with seizures. I need to ask him if he has been drinking anything with caffeine, it's something he has to stay away from. Anyway, I shouldn't worry because i feel deep down he will be fine.
Mark my second son, he is 3 years younger than T.J. is in Florida, he is a welder and a painter. He and his girl have a baby on the way, it will be a boy and they are naming him Zachary. He is due to arrive in March!
Well, I better go, I woke up to eat something small because I was feeling shaky, so I need to get my butt back to bed.
Hugs and Happy New Year,
Maria
