As grandma it is my job to have lots of stories and explanations for things that happen. Some stories are true some are totally made up for the purpose of putting a smile on crying sad little faces, and some times Mo Mo will give a silly explanation for something knowing that it will get back to someone, but I always end the story with "Mo mo said" that way the little ones don't get in trouble.
For example: Chloe and I were watching the movie "Tinkerbell" and Chloe noticed that there were male faeries, so she asked me "Mo mo does that mean that Dad, and Thomas, and Pa and my daddy in Dakota are Faeries?" (The people I just mentioned are Sparky, Tyler chloes step dad and his friend Thomas and her real dad)
Well I couldn't resist, I had to say "Why yes Chloe, they are!"
"Mo mo can I call them faeries?"
"why of course dear, as long as you tell them Mo mo said!"
They won't get mad at her but it will be good for a laugh. Just like when I told her that men go to the gym to get man boobs. I know Tyler, her step dad, loved hearing that one, because his man boobs were bigger than most womens bra sizes. But honestly though, mostly I tell them stories about all sorts of things, why we should be kind to animals, and how nature talks to us etc. Stuff they can learn from. Then too there are the stories of mermaids, princesses and unicorns.
Well, I have to go clean up and get dinner going. Hmmmm don't I always say that? One gets the idea that I am chief cook and bottle washer around... I will have to do something about that. Mo mo needs a break.
Speaking of Faeries, Nancy nicknamed Sparky, Sparkle.
Gotta run, Chloe and Hannah are at war!
Hugs,
Maria
